Who and what is Bay Arts Alliance?
Bay Arts Alliance (BAA) serves as the local non-profit arts agency of Bay County. A principle goal of BAA is to foster a lifelong appreciation and enjoyment of the Arts by providing opportunities for cultural enrichment in our community through broad-based educational experiences and quality performances. BAA also manages the Marina Civic Center, a state-of-the-art 2,500-seat facility owned by the City of Panama City. Sharing a close relationship with the City is an essential component in fulfilling our management responsibilities.
How are our goals reached?
Through Bay Arts Publications, and those of other arts agencies’ – programming, scheduling, and calendars are communicated. The Board of Directors of BAA designates the following actions to accomplish our mission:
- Presenting Arts Series - present national touring performances which bring quality and enrichment to our community.
- Arts in Education - facilitate cultural opportunities for schools and non-profit organizations.
- Programs - foster cultural awareness and growth within the community, by providing workshops and arts events.

How does the Bay Arts Alliance receive financial support?
Bay Arts Alliance is supported by more than 500 individual, business, and organizational members and receives funding from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs though the Florida Arts Council. From the smallest to the largest, BAA appreciates all donations. The efforts of BAA and other arts organizations has contributed to Panama City’s recognition as the sixth best small arts town in the nation. BAA will continue to respond to the changing needs of our community with innovation and dedication. Our commitment to making the arts accessible to everyone is greatly strengthened through the generosity of our sponsors and members.
How can I become a member?
Sponsorship also has its privileges. From Platinum to Bronze, in-kind or not in-kind, you will receive benefits according to donation. For more information on the benefits of sponsorship, please view our Become a Member page.
What We Do
For a donation of as little as $50.00 per year, you can become an active supporting member of Bay Arts Alliance. In addition to receiving many member benefits, your donation helps us continue conducting many special programs for our community.
Your donation assists Bay Art Alliance to contribute performance tickets and tickets underwritten by foundations and corporate sponsors, to groups which otherwise would not be able to attend a performance. Some of these organizations are: After School Assistance Program, Anchorage Children’s Home, Bay Education Foundation, Chemical Addictions Recovery Effort, Council On Aging, Girl Scouts, Girl’s Inc., Matson Retirement Center, St. Andrews Towers, and Widowed Persons Service.
Bay Arts Alliance hosts a monthly arts luncheon where there is open communication and encouragement between art organizations to share information and resources with other arts groups. Bay Arts Alliance collaborates with more than 50 arts and cultural organizations throughout the Bay County community.
Our Arts in Education program organizes an annual Very Special Arts Festival for children with disabilities. Arts In Education routinely conducts art activities in community parks, after school, and in school outreach programs, all with arts components, to bring music, dance, visual arts, and history/heritage to children who otherwise might not have those opportunities.
Our Arts in Education program offers four national touring performances at no charge to all first, third, fifth and eighth grade students in Bay County each year. This is done through the generosity of corporate sponsors and busing is provided by Bay County Schools.
