Arts in Education

In an effort to foster a lifelong appreciation of the arts, Bay Arts Alliance believes in beginning early through Arts in Education programming. Each year, the programming provides live, quality performances for over 7,000 area school children in grades 1, 3, and 5 at the Marina Civic Center in Downtown Panama City. Children come from all over Bay and the surrounding counties enjoy a variety of experiences including dance, theatre and art at no cost to the student, their parents or the school. Due to the generous support of our sponsors and members, Bay Arts Alliance is able to make a lasting impression on local children through invaluable arts and culture experiences.  Bay Arts Alliance will be presenting the following performances to our students:

Legend of Sleepy Hollow – 5th grade show

Legend tells us that the Headless Horseman roams the village of Sleepy Hollow under the full moon forever looking for a head to replace the one he lost, but is it true? This retelling of the classic tale by Washington Irving will capture your imagination as Brom Bones and Ichabod Crane duel for the affection of the beautiful Katrina. This timeless piece of literature is sure to thrill as it leads you on a spooky jaunt through the woods and into a close encounter with the infamous haunt of the town.

Ramona, the exasperating but lovable third-grader, has delighted young readers for over fifty years through the books of Newbery Medal-winning writer Beverly Clearly. Now, she comes to life on the stage in Ramona Quimby.
