Why are you asking me for that info when I’m just buying a ticket?

It takes less than a minute to give us the basic info we need to process your order.  And I understand why I get a curious look from some customers, as if they are saying (or they actually DO say): “Why do you need that info when I just want to get a ticket?”

 

First off, if you use a credit card to purchase, our ticketing system uses a program called XCharge.  This program requires a billing address to be filled in to process, without it the card will not go through.

 

Here are a few scenarios in which it benefits the customer to give us additional info if they use a card or cash:

 

Scenario #1:

Oh no, you’ve lost your tickets!

We use your info given at the time of purchase in order to pull up your account to reprint your tickets for you.  Tickets should be treated like cash, anyone can use them remember.  So if someone finds and uses your tickets, we know the REAL owner of the tickets is the purchaser, IF you gave us your information.

 

Scenario #2:

The show has been cancelled!

We use your info to contact you by email to alert you of this.  We also use your info to see what type of payment was used in order to properly refund your tickets.  Note:  If you used a credit card, we must get your number from you, we DO NOT store credit card numbers, they immediately erase after being processed, but we do need to only refund back onto your card, we will have the last four digits to assist you in remembering which card you used in this scenario.

 

WHAT EACH PIECE OF INFO IS USED FOR:

 

1. NAME

Needed if someone else attempts to sit in your seats.

Needed in case of lost or stolen tickets in order to reprint for you.

Needed if show is cancelled and refunds are issued.

2. ADDRESS

Mandatory when using a credit card, otherwise we cannot process your card.

Needed if show is cancelled and refunds are issued.

Needed as extra precaution if we cannot find your seats by name.

Misspells can occur, even when the customer enters their own info online.

 

3. PHONE NUMBER

Used if your tickets are found and returned to us.

Used if we find that the equipment brought into the theatre by a show creates an  obstructed view, so that we may warn you of this to re-seat you elsewhere.

 

4. EMAIL (optional but we HIGHLY suggest this)

Need this in order to alert you if the show has been cancelled.

It is the fastest and only way we can notify thousands of ticket holders at once.

Also used if we learn there is an obstructed view the evening of show,

so that we may warn you of this to re-seat you elsewhere.

Mandatory for some events for Meet & Greet or VIP seats, etc.

You may receive notification on related upcoming events,

these are typically every few months.

 

However, giving us your info DOES NOT sign you up to get upcoming event info from E-Club, that must be signed up by customer themselves.
